Smile Design
Smile design is not a single treatment. It is the planning stage that establishes what your smile should look like, so that whichever treatments follow are working towards an agreed outcome.
Treatment overview
The process starts with records: photographs, measurements of tooth proportion, and an assessment of how your teeth relate to your lips and face when you speak and smile.
From these records, a proposed design is developed. Depending on the case this may be a digital preview, a model, or a temporary mock-up placed directly over your teeth.
Only once the design is agreed does restorative treatment begin. This sequence reduces the chance of a finished result that does not match what you had in mind.

The agreed design is delivered through the treatments it requires, which may include veneers, crowns, whitening, gum treatment or orthodontics.
Review
Function and appearance are checked once treatment is complete.
Aftercare
- Aftercare follows the individual treatments included in your plan.
- Daily cleaning around every restoration margin remains essential.
- Attend the review appointments arranged for you.
Limitations and risks
Every treatment has trade-offs. These are the ones worth understanding before you decide.
- A design is a proposal; the final result also depends on your existing anatomy, gum position and bite.
- Some designs require preparation of teeth, which is not reversible.
- Not every proposed change is achievable with restorations alone.
- Previews illustrate shape and proportion; the finished ceramic work is fabricated separately.
